Photobooth: Nicole Kaney’s Anniversary Party

Last Fall, some of the region’s top wedding professionals gathered at Micheal’s Wine Cellar to celebrate the amazing Nicole Kaney’s 6th anniversary of her Wedding Planning business, NK Productions. She created a vintage jazz theme for the night, so I set up a fun photo booth with a {ahem} jazzy backdrop of DIY paper wheels, grabbed my usual collection of vintage props and even wrangled a gigantic brass tuba for the braver booth guests. It was amazing to see so many people that are usually behind the scenes let loose and have fun in front of the camera!

Freeze Frame! Photo Booth: Design + Wine 2013

Last week we got to set up our Freeze Frame! Photo Booth at Dolphin Aviation for the 2013 Design & Wine fundraiser event for Easter Seals of Southwest Florida. Although we didn’t get to test drive any of the gorgeous little planes parked nearby, we managed to rustle up some awesome portraits of the party guests! See the link at the end for the full gallery.

Thank you for YOU!

While many of you may be sleeping off the turkey, green bean casserole & pies (oh my), or power-napping to prep for Black Friday madness, I wanted to take a moment to thank my clients from the bottom of my heart for being my clients! I am truly doing what I love to do, and am inspired every day by my clients & my friends, and my clients who have become friends (and vice versa). You make my job a dream job. So here is a tiny peek at what I am thankful for this year. And to the many more faces that couldn’t fit into my little squares here, THANK YOU!!

Old Hollywood Photo Booth: Celebration of Hope

Earlier this month I was asked to set up my photo booth at a very special event, the “Celebration of Hope” graduation ceremony for Take Stock in Children Sarasota. With so many galas & red carpet events in town, I figured this would be any other event, but instead it was a special, intimate evening dedicated to honoring this year’s graduating students. The party (led by Dana Bakich and her event committee) was an old Hollywood, Black & White theme, so we printed everything in black & white on-site. But since party-goers might want to see their gorgeous outfits in color, here is a little sample of what we snapped in the booth.
And of course Monica & I couldn’t resist being part of the fun….

Cinema Tropicale Photo Booth Sneak Peek!

Last night was awesome. Wind and rain aside, we managed to kick some photo booth awesomeness at the Sarasota Film Festival’s pinnacle party, Cinema Tropicale! The whole gallery will be up tomorrow. I’m takin’ the day of to be one year older!

Design + Wine = Fabulous Photo Booth

I met Caroline in the Superbowl Photo Booth earlier this month, as she was finalizing plans on the Design & Wine event she coordinated for Easter Seals Southwest Florida. She added me in to the event, held at Dolphin Aviation, and sent me the invitation for inspiration. I saw the colors, knew Caroline has great taste and created a plan for a very bright and colorful handmade fringed-streamer backdrop. {I followed this awesome DIY and spent about 3 days cutting, hanging and hot-glueing.} This might be my favorite booth so far. The event was full of people ready to have fun and I had quite a few repeat visitors! The backdrop survived (I really want to hang it permanently in my house….), and I had so much fun editing through these shots. Hope you have fun peeking!

Score! Superbowl Photo Booth

Last Sunday we were invited to set up the photo booth at a beautiful backyard Superbowl party hosted by the Director of IMG Academies. I felt at home as soon as we pulled up, because ironically, I had staged this home 2 years ago for a photo shoot at SRQ Magazine.We filled the (at the time) un-occupied house with furniture, artwork, food and dishware to make it look stylish AND lived-in. The photographer and I spent hours capturing images of this beautiful home, so I felt like I lived there for those 2 days! But last Sunday Greg and I were in the back yard, along with a jumbo-tron TV, team-pride cheering guests and amazing food by Jeremy Chambers. The party was made even lovelier with decor designed by Keren Lifrak. I was just happy that I could easily incorporate the two team colors into my props & handmade bunting!

Photo Booth: Salvaged Booth for Healthy Start

I am finally posting about the extremely fun & successful photo booth we set up at “An Evening for Healthy Start” at Sarasota Architectural Salvage last month. The event is an annual fundraiser for the Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota, a non-profit dedicated to improving health for new moms & babies. You may remember I shot some photos of {then} mom-to-be Jen for the event’s poster. It is so rewarding to a) get to do what I love every day and b) contribute to well-deserving and meaningful groups like this. Also, the party was super fun… Former Mayor Kelly Kirschner was the emcee {and he totally rocked}, Big Night Out played really great music, local food stars like Nancy’s BBQ & Lollicake Queen were on hand, and oh yea we had a rad booth set up! My extra talented hubby (Gregory Martin Design) built the amazing backdrop from salvaged wood & rescued life-saver rafts, and we nestled our gear & props in between the iron arches and salvaged statuary in the side yard. The only not-awesome part of this story is that I got hit with a horrible cold that day, and after an hour of sniffling all over the place (trying not to touch anyone as I greeted them), Greg earned extra gold stars by stepping in for me. With the help of my AMAZING assistant Monica, they rocked the booth for the rest of the night.

Santa Booth: Willis A. Smith Holiday Party

Here’s a quick peek at the photo booth setup I did for a Willis A. Smith holiday party at Marina Jack’s. Santa hats, cowboy hats, reindeer antlers + happy party guests = a booth full of fun. And since I was at a wedding this weekend, my lovely assistant Monica Bello stepped in to click the shutter for me! She did a great job and everyone had a blast. Check it out!

Feather boas, mustaches & funny glasses: Ashley + Jaime’s Wedding Photo Booth

This weekend we (me + my hubby/busines partner Greg) had the pleasure of setting up our photo booth at a GORGEOUS, I mean STUNNING wedding at Ringling Museum‘s courtyard. When I was chatting with one of the wedding photographers (Genya of Vue Photography), she said it felt like the set of a Bachelor episode (totally in a good way), with all the beautiful lights & decor. (I was pretty psyched that I’m not the only wedding photographer who admits to watching The Bachelor!) {The event was planned by the amazing Keren Lifrak} We kind of had the best situation, with our booth set up for the reception, so we got to participate AND watch all the good stuff (sucker for the father/daughter dance). And I have to say our booth was a big hit! Not sure if it was the handsome fella manning the printing station, or the suitcase full of props, but our corner was definitely a party in itself. Guests were able to take prints home as favors (courtesy of the bride & groom). Check out a few of my favorite shots from the night!
